Houses inspired by the home I grew up in

From the age of five up until when I left New Zealand I lived in the most beautiful home. Designed by architect Ross Newby ‘The Banks House’ is set in the middle of the Waitakere Ranges in Auckland. A contrast of sloping and flat roofs compliments one another and strong geometrical interior ceiling shapes spilling onto flat ceilings that appeared to float above the glazing, this house was a dream home to grow up in.

I am always heavily inspired by the home I grew up in as well as it’s location - mid-century modern living in the middle of a rainforest. Here are some inspiring interiors that remind me of my childhood home:
